Historical Background
Cohehre was established with the support of the European
Commission and within the framework of the Erasmus-programme.
The consortium was formed as the result of a European congress
of 8 Institutes of Higher Education in Health and Rehabilitation
in February 1990 in Ghent, Belgium.
During the General Assembly of the 2006 conference in Setúbal, Portugal, an affirmative vote was recorded for including social work/social care in the core study fields in higher education that Cohehre, as a multiprofessional organisation, aims at.
