The annual COHEHRE conference is a regular event. Each year the conference is hosted by a member institution of the consortium. A significant topic from the European agenda crossing panoramas within health and social care education is chosen as its theme.

Evaluation carried out every year suggests that the conference has been the ideal place to meet colleagues from new institutions, share knowledge, engage in new projects and increase the level of internationalization of each member institution.

The programme for academic staff who participate in the conference is focused on different types of activities such as keynote speakers, workshops, round tables, special interest meetings, oral and poster presentations. Opportunities are also provided to foster inter cultural understanding and an introduction to local health and social care facilities.

Since 2005 there has been an increasing will and effort to involve the students in the conference to create an international and networking opportunity for them as well. A programme of activities for students runs parallel to the staff programme.

The students' programme also includes activities to promote a better knowledge and understanding of the hosting institution, its educational culture, its degree programmes and the local health and social care system.
