Role Specification for International Coordination Within Cohehre

The key role for such an individual is to advocate for Cohehre and its activities.

The consortium was established on the belief that the development and quality of higher education for the health care professions would be enhanced by international cooperation, realising amongst others, an international/European dimension to the educational activities of its membership.

In order to achieve this Cohehre seeks to establish itself as a European learning organisation/community. The characteristics of this are:

  • Pursue issues of common interest and practice
  • Seek consensus in decision-making processes
  • Are empowered
  • Rely on one another for information and learning
  • See themselves as part of a larger whole
  • Support the sharing of divergent ideas
  • Respect each other
  • Engage in critical reflection
  • Engage in constructive change
  • Provide opportunities to hear dissenting opinions
  • Create a spirit of cooperation

To help achieve this Cohehre Council would like the International Coordinator to help in the following ways.

  • Provide the Council with constructive feedback on how the Council is doing
  • Host new members and mentor them
  • Actively support staff - student exchange
  • Advocate for Cohehre within their country and institution
  • Support Cohehre members in the act of networking, and project work
  • Ensure projects done by Cohehre members are inclusive of:
    - Interprofessional
    - Interdisciplinary
    - Intercultural
    - Interactive
    - International (beyond Europe)
  • Criteria and aspects
  • Provide advice to Council on the development of research, curriculum and staff development activities.

Council proposes that it will meet with the international coordinators at every conference.

It may be necessary to meet on another occasion during the year as well, ie during the project meeting in September.
